What is this gallery exhibit?

Welcome to the Effective Educational Video exhibit in the Gallery of Online Excellence. While you are free to explore these pages as you like, if you haven’t been here before, we can recommend an optimal pathway to derive the exhibit’s intended benefits.

The heart of this exhibit is the set of exemplary videos created by our faculty, but the overriding idea is becoming familiar with evidence-based best practice, as seen in these videos. Watch the X-minute video below for an overview and a tour.

Make a brief video with screen shots to tour them around and familiarize the approach; can also include brief clips from their videos where I show jumping, "tease" the various approaches, tease  a couple of criteria, and generally explain how all this is meant to work.

What is in here?

Multiple studies have shown that video can be a highly effective educational tool. But if videos are not well designed or developed, students won’t use them as intended and their learning performance may even be hindered. These exhibits model effective examples of lecture video, while also providing you with research-informed design guidelines and process guidance.
